Higgins went to the Rainbow Bridge at 14 years old. Although he lived a long, happy, vigorous life, he left us much too soon.
Higgins was bred by long-time cocker fanciers, and our dear friends, Henry and Lucy (deceased) Krause. He was our first show dog, and he set the standard for what we look for in a cocker. Higgins was a sporting dog, with true sporting dog movement and style. Even at 14 years old, his movement would catch your eye as he trotted around the backyard.
Higgins was Leslie's heart dog, and the bond they shared was stronger than any Leslie had ever experienced. He was her constant companion, and is missed more than words can say. It is so hard to accept that we will never again be able to gaze into his big, gorgeous, soulful, brown eyes or pat his head or run our fingers through his silky hair.
We love you always, Higgins, and know that you are at the Bridge, running and playing like a young dog again -- free of the infirmities of age. Play well, our dear friend, until we meet again.
